CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK
This week, April 30th to May 5th, 2023, is Catholic Education Week. Each year, the Catholic community of Ontario engages in a week-long celebration of the unique identity and distinctive contributions of Catholic education during Catholic Education Week.
This year’s celebration is entitled, Catholic Education: We are many, We are one and will be celebrated during this week. Classes will be involved in a variety of activities during this week to promote Catholic Education.
As a school, we will be kicking off the week with Friendship Group activities on Monday, May 1st. As well, On May 1st and May 10th, the Vaughan Public Library will be coming into the school to do a variety of STREAM activities. The activities will range from building, creating, coding, and robotics.
On Tuesday, May 2nd , we will be taking part in a Rosary Apostolates Celebration. K-3 students will gather in the gym for their celebration at 9:15am and the junior and intermediate students will gather for their celebration at 10:30. All are welcome to attend.
On Wednesday, May 4th we will be celebrating the Catholic Education Week Mass scheduled for 10:00 a.m. All students, families, Board staff, trustees, and the broader Catholic community are invited to participate “virtually” in this celebration of the Eucharist by clicking on the following link at the scheduled time:
On Thursday, May 4th, we will have a special speaker named Kwesi Millington who will do a presentation for grades K-5 @ 9:15 and 6-8 @ 10:30. The presentation is entitled Becoming Unbreakable and focuses on resilience.
On Friday, May 5th, we will have a Dress Down Day for a loonie. Holy Jubilee will be joining many other schools in Vaughan who are participating in a walk for Anne Francis. Please see attached letter for details.
